News Ticker

Fashion Police target the law
Fashion Police target the law
Have you ever read a story in the papers before now and wondered if somehow it was April 1st all over again.  The story is just so downright bizarre you wonder if it can actually be true?  Well that is exactly how I felt reading the news today, when I stumbled on a story reporting that the West Midland Police Force have called in the fashion police to deal with dodgy underwear.   From dubious men’s underwear to women’s lacy thongs the powers that be have felt the need to issue a code of conduct related to what the officers wear on their bottom half.

It does almost defies belief that this is an issue that really warrants so much attention, have they not got baddies to catch and put behind bars?  It seems that the staff are not terribly impressed with the ideas either as they have been moaning about the new rules too.  Apparently the coppers need to achieve an invisible presence from the top of the waistband, but also avoid visible lines around the bum cheeks under those close fitting issue trousers.  Now out of fairness we thought the lads on the force may need some pointers; ladies have been fighting the VPL issue for some years now and they now know how to avoid it, but for men this could be new news.

One of the ways to ensure you keep a low profile is to opt for trunks or boxer shorts, as these finish lower down the leg than briefs.  This means that instead of lines around the buns, shorts end on the thigh just at the point your trousers widen a little meaning that the trunks simply won’t be seen.  There are a number of excellent underwear designers offering some seriously sexy shorts, Calvin Klein has a vast range, whilst brands like Sloggi and HOM also offer some close cut pairs that really will become invisible under your trousers.

The other option is to go for some men’s shapewear, yes lads its spandex for men, but with definite class - thank goodness.  Brought to you by the lovely people at 2(x)ist, these fabulous items feature a high rise tummy panel that helps hide the lumps and bumps we all hate to admit to, and coming in black or white you should be able to conceal them neatly under your uniform.  Again, the choice is briefs or shorts on the bottom, offering you the choice of cut that fits best, and hopefully keeping the chief happy at the same time!  Thankfully guys there is a whole range of mens underwear that can become invisible under trousers, and of course the other tip is to make sure they fit well.  Squashing your tush into too small undies doesn’t help the visible pant line issue, in fact it simply makes it worse.  Update your underwear collection today and you can avoid being thrown into the cells for breaking the new pants regulations - and no it isn’t April Fool’s day - this one is for real.
